Dallas is found in the American state of Texas. It is the third largest city with more than six million people living in the Metropolitan area. This makes Dallas the 8th largest city in the United States. Dallas is also a major economic hub with an economy based primarily on banking, commerce, information technology, energy (especially oil), telecommunications and transportation. This makes Dallas a bustling metropolis of residents and millions of visitors both business visitors and tourists.
Dallas is a city that was built upon the wealth of the oil and cotton industries. Although a land locked city, the city still thrives using a very well developed rail system that encompasses the whole metropolitan area and Dallas is also very well served by the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Apart from being a major destination for business men, Dallas also has a few attractions to the pleasure tourist. The State Fair of Texas, held annually since 1886 is a huge draw card. There is also a lot of sporting spectaculars and place of historical interest.
